I cannot believe I just came across the information. I have been doing family research for over 20 years and I found out today that my great grandparents had a fourth child and just discovered that child was a patient at Lakeland Village State Custodial School. Three other siblings were adopted to other families with at least two not having any disability and a third died by suicide much later in life.
I am curious what kind of records, if any, were kept for this facility. In my research I found that my great grand aunt was at this facility since at least 9 years of age in 1930 and died at the facility in 1975.
How would one go about trying to find information about a patient who stayed at the facility?

Librarians are incredible -- and some, apparently, stand out even beyond that. Thanks for bringing this story forward!
